Tools and Resources

Real business support starts here

The SME Climate Hub has partnered with Oxford University to support small businesses in reducing their carbon emissions and to provide climate solutions to contribute to climate action in society. The tools and resources directly below help all SMEs take concrete steps towards climate action across multiple pathways. They’re the first step to getting started.

Find additional tools and resources in our extensive library below, including guides, case studies, webinars and reports. These are updated  on a quarterly basis to continuously simplify  SMEs’ path to climate action. As a small business, you are welcome to provide feedback through the form below the library, or recommend a tool through this form.

Action starts by signaling your commitment to the transition to a net zero economy. Start by making the SME Climate Commitment today.

You can’t manage what you don’t measure. Find measurement tools relevant to your business to calculate your current emissions and your progress towards net zero.

Integrating climate action into your business strategy is vital for the long-term growth and resilience of your business. These tools will help you to integrate climate in your mission, value proposition and solutions, and plan your journey to net zero.

Own emissions include all the emissions “inside the company walls”. The tools provide support in reducing emissions from sources such as buildings, vehicles, energy and business travel.

Value chain emissions include all the emissions “outside the company walls”, normally representing the largest share of a company’s total footprint. The tools provide support in reducing emissions from sources such as purchasing of goods and materials, usage of products and transportation.

Verified carbon credit projects can help accelerate climate transformation and can be used as a complement to cutting your own emissions in half before 2030 towards net zero before 2050.

We have mapped hundreds of tools and resources, which were then independently reviewed by climate experts and small business leaders, with the purpose of securing good quality and practical tools.

The tools and resource database will be updated continuously. We welcome your feedback on what you have found helpful or what additional elements your business could benefit from, in order to provide the best possible business support over time.
