Our goal is that by 2030, Internet of Planet's (IoP) greenhouse gas emissions per employee across the value chain shall be reduced by a minimum of 80% (from 5 to 1 ton CO2e/employee) and no technically abatable greenhouse gas emissions shall remain. The remaining carbon footprint will be counter- balanced by like-for-like and durable (minimum 100 years) carbon removals. An intensity target is applied since Internet of Planet is a climate solutions company: all projects and solutions support the mission to halve global emissions by 2030. The net-zero target will be reviewed regularly to ensure best practice is being fulfilled.

50% reduction of intensity by 2025 for scope 1, 2 and 3 combined Scope 1: to remain at zero. Scope 2: to be fulfilled by using co-working space which uses 100% renewable electricity and ensuring 100% renewable electricity for home-working locations. Scope 3: target to be fulfilled by addressing emissions associated with cash in the bank, engaging with suppliers of all goods and services and keeping business travel to a minimum.

Comment on your energy consumption

*

Emissions from energy use are calculated based on average usage per square metre in Sweden. The total emissions from IoP's energy consumption are already at very low levels, but we have set plans to reduce these even further through better utilization of our office space and reaching 100% renewable electricity.

*

All relevant sources of emissions - in terms of significance - are included.

describe the calculation methodology and comment on accuracy:

*

The calculation is estimated to include over 99% of Internet of Planet's emissions. The SMECH Business Calculator has been used to estimate the emissions in combination with methods applied by ClimateHero using emissions factors from DEFRA and other similar sources.

scope 2 actions

purchased electricity

Yes

The co-working space used currently uses 95% renewable electricity, and the goal is to use an office in with 100% renewable electricity including for home work locations.

purchased steam

N/A

Not used.

purchased heating

Yes

Optimization of office space can help decrease energy usage. The goal is to use an office in with 100% renewable cooling and heating. It is currently not possible to directly impact the district heating energy mix used in the building.

purchased cooling

Yes

Optimization of office space can help decrease energy usage. The goal is to use an office in with 100% renewable cooling and heating. It is currently not possible to directly impact the cooling system in the building.

scope 3 actions

supply chain related (upstream)

purchased good and services

*

Yes

Key actions are taken related to consultancy services (1), data and IT services (2) data and IT equipment (3) and food (4) IoP is requesting all suppliers to disclose emissions, to commit to halving by 2030, to reporting emissions per product/services on invoices or in open databases, and to join the UN-based Race to Zero e.g. through the SMECH. IoP is reducing emissions from data & IT services and equipment by selecting products and services with lower footprints, by conscious selection of providers. IoP will continue to prioritize 2nd hand/refurbished equipment and set guidelines for the same. IoP has implemented a policy of only buying vegetarian food.

capital goods

*

Yes

The policy related to IT equipment is covered under purchased goods and services.

fuel and energy related activities

*

Yes

The actions for scope 2 will impact upstream energy activities in terms of less demand through improved office space utilization.

transportation and distribution (upstream)

*

N/A

The impact is insignificant and hence not calculated or a focus for IoP

waste in operation

*

N/A

The impact is insignificant and hence not calculated or a focus for IoP.

business travel

*

Yes

Internet of Planet a travel policy following the principles of virtual first, train second and minimising flights. For the cases where flights are needed, emissions should be minimized e.g. through choosing the lowest emissions route and also investing in sustainable aviation fuel.

employee commuting

*

Yes

The goal is that all employees use bicycle, public transport or EVs to commute to work, and that our commuting policy is included in the employee contracts moving forward. To facilitate this we are planning to provide the opportunity for employees to rent or purchase bicycles with some cost covered by the company.
