Abundant Times operates from the director's home, working on a project basis. As the calculator has no option for home-based businesses, home is recorded as the business facility, and the business's share of actual household energy (1.58%, based on 92 hours of work) is reported under Heating and Electricity. Our 2025 baseline is 0.102 tonnes CO2e. We are committed to net zero by 2030 and a near-term target of a 50% reduction by 2028, focusing on lean purchasing and reducing home energy use. Because the business is small, year-on-year changes will partly reflect how much project work we take on.

Scopes 1 and 2 cover the proportional home office energy use of the business owner, the sole director, who works from home. The business share is 1.58% of actual household gas and electricity, based on 92 hours of project work in 2025, using supplier data from Octopus Energy. While the director pays the household energy bills (not paid by the company), work-related consumption is included to reflect the full operational energy footprint. Electricity is on a 100% renewable tariff.

Small Business Carbon Calculator

4.5.1 Specify additional details*

Scope 3 emissions cover all direct company expenditure in 2025: software subscriptions (WordPress, Sage and Zoom) and an NLA Media Access licence, calculated on a spend basis. There was no business travel, freight, capital expenditure or employee commuting during the reporting period. Statutory fees and dividends are excluded. Our reduction strategy focuses on keeping purchases lean and reviewing subscriptions annually.

Results, Challenges and Outlook *

7.1 Provide any additional comments or context on your annual results and progress from previous years.*

This is our first report and baseline year, with a total footprint of 0.102 tonnes CO2e. We have since cancelled our Zoom and Sage subscriptions, which will reduce Scope 3 emissions in 2026. As a small, project-based business, future year-on-year changes will also reflect how much project work we take on.

7.2 Do you face any key challenges in reducing emissions?*

Reducing scope 3 emissions, Balancing emission reductions with business growth, Other challenges (please specify)

Specify other challenges*

The calculator is designed for office-based businesses and has no option for a home-based sole director working on a project basis, so home had to be recorded as the business facility. Spend-based Scope 3 calculations also don't reflect lower-impact supplier choices.

7.3 Has there been any third party validation of the data submitted in this report?*

No
