GHG protocol used to calculate emissions, using latest Gov conversion factors. Calculation is completed internally by our Technical Director using an excel tool created by Liverpool John Moores University Eco I team. Data accuracy is good, in case where their is uncertainty over data (e.g. shared electricity meter), we calculate based on 100% of the energy used - over estimating our emissions.

As Pura is growing the focus is developing our products to reduce their environmental footprint across their lifecycle. From source reduction, material optimization to funding and trial nappy recycling in Bristol which could save billions of nappies from Landfill and Incineration each year (with a much smaller EOL carbon footprint). Our near term focus is to gather a complete scope 1-3 footprint for our business, then build out a fuller plan to reduction and a journey to NZ.
