Baseline measured to the GHG Protocol across Scopes 1–3 for FY2025/26 (1 July 2025–30 June 2026): 65.78 tCO₂e total, 2.86 tCO₂e per employee. Absolute reduction target of 50% by 2030 against this baseline, and net zero by 2050. As a media agency, our targets span both our own operations and the media we plan and buy, which we carbon-account using the Global Media Sustainability Framework.
2.4 To reduce emissions in line with my commitment, my company has a climate action plan and is taking action*
Yes, the plan and action include all scope 1+2+3

3.5 Location-based Scope 2 emissions*
2.71 metric tons CO2e
3.6 Market-based Scope 2 emissions*
-
Scope 1 and 2 units confirmation*
I confirm that I have entered all Scope 1 and 2 emissions values in metric tons CO2e
3.7 Have you taken any actions to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions in the reporting period?*
Yes
3.7.1 What actions have you taken?*
Climate strategy and planning, Energy efficient buildings and offices, Transport and logistics, Material circularity and waste reduction, Digital and technology-enabled solutions, Other company behavioural changes
3.7.2 Describe your actions taken to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions in the reporting period*
As a hybrid, largely paperless agency operating from shared, energy-efficient premises, our direct (Scope 1 & 2) footprint is inherently low — 3.07 tCO₂e combined. We minimise office energy demand through hybrid working, keep business travel to a fraction of the sector norm (1.06 tCO₂e), and default to video conferencing over travel.
3.8 Which tools or methods did you use to calculate your Scope 1 and 2 emissions?*
Small Business Carbon Calculator
3.8.1 Specify any additional details*
Scope 1 relates to fugitive (refrigerant) emissions within our shared premises; Scope 2 to apportioned building electricity.
Value Chain Emissions (optional)
Scope 3 emissions
4.1 Have you measured any of your scope 3 emissions?*
Yes
Supply chain related - upstream emissions
Customer related - downstream emissions
Scope 3 units confirmation*
I confirm that I have entered all Scope 3 emissions values in metric tons CO2e
4.2 Have you taken any actions to reduce scope 3 emissions in the reporting period?*
Yes
4.2.1 What actions have you taken to reduce scope 3 emissions in the reporting period?*
Climate strategy and planning, Energy efficient buildings and offices, Business travel and commuting, Material circularity and waste reduction, Digital and technology-enabled solutions, Other company behavioural changes
4.2.2 Provide any additional details*
Scope 3 is 95% of our footprint, so it's our primary focus. Hybrid working reduces commuting; a video-first policy keeps business travel to 1.06 tCO₂e; and we operate a largely paperless office with material recycling. Our purchased goods & services figure is spend-based, and improving this data is a priority for next year.
4.3 Have you asked any of your suppliers to set a net zero target (either voluntarily or as a requirement)?*
No
4.3.1 What percentage of your suppliers have you asked?*
-
4.4 Have you communicated your commitment and actions to any of your customers?*
Yes
4.5 Which tools or methods did you use to calculate your scope 3 emissions?*
Small Business Carbon Calculator
4.5.1 Specify additional details*
Calculated to the GHG Protocol using activity data drawn directly from financial and operational records; building electricity apportioned to our floorspace.
Climate Solutions (optional)
5.1 Do any of your existing products and/or services qualify as climate solutions or enabling solutions?*
No
5.2 Please confirm your solutions meet all the following safeguard requirements.*
What percentage of your total revenue came from these products and/or services last year?*
-
5.4 Provide descriptions/names of your solutions:*
-
5.5 How did you assess whether these are climate solutions?*
5.5.1 Has any third party validated this?*
-

-
Governance, Strategy and Climate Risk (optional)
6.1 What governance processes do you have in place for your climate strategy? Choose as many as are applicable.*
Governance process in place, Person is responsible for climate strategy at board level
6.1 Explain*
-
6.1.1 Please describe their position and responsibility.*
Chris Andrews, Head of MarTech, is responsible at board level for MFN's climate and sustainability strategy — owning our carbon measurement, targets and reduction programme. Externally, he sits on the IPA Climate Calculator Working Group and IPA Media Climate Action Group (shaping the frameworks the industry adopts), is CISL-certified, and is the sustainability columnist for Performance World.
6.1.2 Is this person (or another at executive and board level) also responsible for climate risk?*
Yes
6.1.3 Please describe the governance process in place*
Climate strategy at MFN is owned at board level and set out in our Sustainability & Environmental Policy. We measure our full carbon footprint annually to the GHG Protocol (Scopes 1–3), review performance against our 2030 and 2050 targets, and report progress each year. Sustainability considerations are built into operational decisions and into how we plan and buy media for clients, and our policy is formally reviewed at least annually.
6.2 Have you started to identify and assess your companies climate risks and opportunities?*
Yes - we have identified both climate risks and opportunities
6.2.1 Where are the climate risks you've identified?*
Both operations and value chains
6.2.1 Explain*
-
6.2.2 How are you managing these climate risks? Choose as many as are applicable.*
We've started to prioritise climate risks, We've Identified plans for adaptation to mitigate these risks, We've Integrated these adaptation plans into business practices
6.2.2 Explain*
-
6.2.3 Provide any additional comments or context on your climate risks:*
As a London-based media agency in shared premises, our direct physical climate risk is low. Our most material climate consideration is transition risk within the media supply chain — the carbon impact of the media we plan and buy on behalf of clients. We actively manage this: we measure the carbon emissions of media plans using the Global Media Sustainability Framework, giving us visibility of where emissions sit across channels. This allows us to identify lower-carbon options and offer clients more sustainable media choices within their plans — reducing not only our own value-chain emissions but the downstream emissions we influence for clients, and supporting their Scope 3 reporting. This capability is central to how we help clients manage their own climate transition.
6.3 Have you integrated climate and/or nature into your company mission statement or shareholder agreements? If yes, describe how.*
No
-
6.4 Have you taken actions this year outside of your emissions to accelerate climate progress?*
Yes
Through our Head of MarTech, we contribute to shaping industry climate frameworks via the IPA Climate Calculator Working Group and the IPA Media Climate Action Group. We are supporters of the IPA Media Climate Charter and Ad Net Zero, and publish sustainability thought leadership (sustainability columnist, Performance World).
Results, Challenges and Outlook *
7.1 Provide any additional comments or context on your annual results and progress from previous years.*
Our 2025/26 footprint of 65.78 tCO₂e (2.86 tCO₂e per employee) sits below the UK advertising agency average of 3.4 tCO₂e, with business travel a fraction of the sector norm. This is the baseline against which we measure and report reductions year on year, in line with our commitment to halve emissions by 2030.
7.2 Do you face any key challenges in reducing emissions?*
Limited control over energy use in buildings, Balancing emission reductions with business growth, Complexities in managing supply chain emissions, Inaccurate or insufficient data
Specify other challenges*
-
7.3 Has there been any third party validation of the data submitted in this report?*
No
