1.2 Describe your business activities

*
Windsor Carriages provides privately hosted heritage experiences, event support, and estate logistics within Windsor and the surrounding Crown Estate. Our work centres on curating and delivering full-day visits, corporate programmes, and special occasions for private clients, international visitors, and organisations. Each experience is carefully planned and hosted, combining heritage transport by horse-drawn carriage with guiding, itinerary design, and on-the-ground coordination. In addition to guest experiences, we support events and group programmes through heritage logistics, including multi-carriage movements, ceremonial arrivals, and operational coordination within a live royal and public environment. The business operates on a low-volume, high-value model, hosting a limited number of private groups each season. This approach ensures high standards of horse welfare, guest experience, and environmental responsibility. Our activities also contribute to the preservation of traditional carriage driving skills, support local suppliers and hospitality partners, and provide community access through educational and charitable programmes.

50% of absolute scope 1+2+3 emission reduction from my base year by 2030

2.3 Provide any additional comments or context on your net zero and near term targets.

*
Windsor Carriages has set a near-term target to reduce absolute emissions by 50% by 2030, using 2024 as the baseline year. Our emissions are primarily driven by transport, particularly the movement of horses and carriages and associated logistics. As a result, our reduction strategy focuses on reducing emissions at source through operational changes. Key actions include reducing reliance on long-distance transport, increasing the use of locally based horses, and exploring a more centralised operating base closer to Windsor to minimise travel distances. Additional measures include continued use of electric bicycle travel for staff, improved journey planning, and prioritisation of local suppliers. Residual emissions will be addressed through verified carbon removal projects as reductions are achieved.

3.7.2 Provide any additional details

*
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are minimal due to the absence of a commercial premises and limited direct fuel use. Actions taken include reducing staff vehicle use through the introduction of electric bicycle travel and maintaining a low-energy, home-based operating model.

*
Yes

4.2.1 What actions have you taken to reduce scope 3 emissions in the reporting period?

*

Climate strategy and planning,Business travel and commuting,Transport and logistics

4.2.2 Provide any additional details

*
Windsor Carriages has taken practical steps to reduce Scope 3 emissions, with a focus on transport and procurement. Transport-related emissions have been reduced through improved journey planning, consolidation of vehicle movements, and a reduction in staff vehicle use through the introduction of electric bicycle travel and increased car pooling. The business continues to prioritise local sourcing for hospitality supplies and materials wherever possible, and uses reusable materials in place of single-use alternatives. Operations are intentionally low-volume and carefully scheduled, limiting the frequency of transport movements and reducing emissions per hosted experience.

4.3 Have you asked any of your suppliers to set a net zero target (either voluntarily or as a requirement)?

*
No

4.4 Have you communicated your commitment and actions to any of your customers?

*
Yes

4.5 Which tools or methods did you use to calculate your scope 3 emissions?

Results, Challenges and Outlook *

7.1 Provide any additional comments or context on your annual results and progress from previous years.

*
Windsor Carriages established 2024 as its baseline year and has taken a structured approach to measuring emissions in 2025, using activity-based data for transport alongside spend-based estimates for selected Scope 3 categories. Transport-related emissions account for the majority of our footprint, with long-distance movements identified as the primary driver. Total emissions in 2025 were calculated at approximately 3.67 tonnes CO₂e. While this represents an increase compared to the 2024 baseline, the change is primarily attributable to a higher proportion of long-distance transport, particularly horse and carriage movements from Norfolk, alongside business growth during the period. Importantly, the reporting process has provided clear visibility of emissions drivers, confirming that transport accounts for the majority of our footprint. This insight has directly informed operational improvements, including the introduction of electric bicycle travel for staff, increased journey planning and consolidation, and a continued focus on low-volume, carefully scheduled operations. Looking ahead, the business is focused on reducing emissions at source, particularly by minimising reliance on long-distance transport and increasing the use of locally based horses. The potential establishment of a more centralised operating base closer to Windsor is a key consideration in this strategy. We will continue to refine data collection, improve measurement accuracy, and reduce emissions per hosted experience over time, with offsetting used only as a supporting measure alongside reduction.

7.2 Do you face any key challenges in reducing emissions?

*

Reducing scope 3 emissions,Electrifying the vehicle fleet and/or cutting transport emissions,Complexities in managing supply chain emissions

7.3 Has there been any third party validation of the data submitted in this report?

*
