3.7 Describe your plans and actions taken to reduce scope 1 & 2 emissions.

Ensuring we are on the best renewable tariffs, continuing conversation with landlord on alternative to heating from gas boiler. Developed an energy efficiency policy for the office to minimise energy waste. Note - for the previous reporting year we stated 0.00 metric ton CO2e for Scope 1, as we are on a renewable tariff with Octopus. However, we have since decided to include the emissions as we felt it prudent to disclose the usage.

As purchased goods and services is our largest Scope 3 emission impact, this is the key area of focus. We are implementing supplier code of conduct which includes guidance on purchasing locally and independently. Additionally we have begun to map our supply chain.

Scope 3 - for purchased goods and services, spend based data is gathered and emissions calculated with DEFRA conversion by SIC code. Waste, business travel and employee commuting use GHG conversion factors and we calculate working from home emissions using Eco Act Homeworking Emissions Methodology.

Our team has built a sound knowledge and understanding of best practice in Social and Environmental Sustainability (SES) Strategies and Communications. We offer a range of standardised and tailored workshops, planning tools and best practice guides, that are suited to businesses who have limited understanding and want to get started but don’t know where or how, and for those who are in the early stages of developing a strategy who would benefit from guidance and best practice benchmarking to organise their credentials and goals. Our workshops support team training and development needs by setting people on the correct path with confidence and optimism to develop a robust social and environmental sustainability strategy that is focussed on meaningful progress. Our largest Scope 3 emissions are from purchased goods and services, this has dropped from 95% to 73% between 2022 and 2023 due to two factors; firstly our client base has changed and we have been purchasing less goods on their behalf and secondly the conversion factor metrics used in 2022 have changed as the conversion factor was decommissioned.
