Jack Drum Arts delivered community arts activities across the North East of England. Participants took part in sessions at our venue in Crook and at outreach centres through partnerships with other organisations. Most participants were locally based, but annual winter and summer projects brought around 100 participants from across the country to participate as well. Participants were supported to perform in public and share their creations in a wide range of public events including festivals, parades, carnivals, exhibitions, and sharings.

30 of scope 1+2+3 emission reduction from my base year by 2029

2.3 Provide any additional comments or context on your net zero and near term targets.

*
These targets are the best we can do with the limited resources we have. The more in depth we are with our data collection, the higher our Carbon Footprint will be. But we hope to reach that level in the next few years, and then begin the work to reduce our emissions through targeted initiatives and energy saving measures.

*
Yes, the plan and action include all scope 1+2+3

Own Emissions *

Energy consumption

3.3 Total renewable energy consumption

*
0 kWh

Scope 1 emissions

3.4 Scope 1 emissions

*
7 metric tons CO2e

Scope 2 emissions

3.5 Location-based scope 2 emissions

*
0.5 metric tons CO2e

3.7 Have you taken any actions to reduce scope 1+2 emissions in the reporting period?

*
Yes

3.7.1 What actions have you taken to reduce scope 1+2 emissions in the reporting period

*

On-site low-carbon/renewable energy generation,Energy efficient buildings and offices

3.7.2 Provide any additional details

*
We installed LED Lighting in our office and workshop room. The Community Centre in which we are based had a Solar PV array installed. We do not have access to the data from the Solar PV array, but it has significantly reduced our electricity consumption during the summer months.

3.8 Which tools or methods did you use to calculate your scope 1+2 emissions?

*

Other calculator (please specify)

3.8.1 Specify any additional details

*
We use the SmartCarbon Calculator to log our data and calculate our totals. Most data recorded for this year was primary, although we estimate the usage for our Electricity and Water, which we share the bill for with our landlord.

Value Chain Emissions (optional) *

Scope 3 emissions

4.1 Have you measured any of your scope 3 emissions?

*
Yes

Supply chain related - upstream emissions

Customer related - downstream emissions

4.2 Have you taken any actions to reduce scope 3 emissions in the reporting period?

*
No

4.3 Have you asked any of your suppliers to set a net zero target (either voluntarily or as a requirement)?

*
No

4.4 Have you communicated your commitment and actions to any of your customers?

*
Yes

4.5 Which tools or methods did you use to calculate your scope 3 emissions?

*

Other calculator (please specify)

4.5.1 Specify additional details

*
We collected data for the following Scope 3 emissions (type of data in brackets): Staff Commuting (Primary); Business Travel - Cars, Buses, Trains, Planes (Primary); Water Supply/Treatment (Primary); Waste - Closed Loop and Combustion (Primary); Company Vehicle (Primary); T&D / WTT. SmartCarbon Calculator generates WTT and T&D figures for all our data, which this reporting tool does not have the appropriate fields in which to enter.

Results, Challenges and Outlook *

7.1 Provide any additional comments or context on your annual results and progress from previous years.

*
This is Jack Drum Arts' third Carbon Footprint Report. We are now measuring our emissions scopes against baselines, or establishing new ones where we have moved to primary data collection from proxy.

7.2 Do you face any key challenges in reducing emissions?

*

Reducing scope 3 emissions,Limited control over energy use in buildings,Reducing emissions from business travel,Time constraints,Lack of skills and knowledge,Insufficient funding

7.3 Has there been any third party validation of the data submitted in this report?

*

Yes

SmartCarbon Calculator has processed the data for us, creating a unique spreadsheet, applying conversion factors and outputting the final Carbon Footprint Report.
