2.3 Provide any additional comments or context on your net zero and near term targets.

*
While a growing business, we have always strived to grow sustainably and be as self sufficient in our energy and resource use as we can. We will look to continue improving our renewable energy production, carbon sequestration, energy efficiency in order to reach net zero by 2030.

*
Yes

Energy consumption

3.2 Total energy consumption

*
707436 kwh

Scope 1 emissions

3.4 Scope 1 emissions

*
133.89 metric tons CO2e

Scope 2 emissions

3.5 Location based scope 2 emissions

*
87.2 metric tons CO2e

3.6 Market based scope 2 emissions

*
95.5 metric tons CO2e

3.7 Describe your plans and actions taken to reduce scope 1 & 2 emissions.

*
We are looking at the possibility of installing a wind turbine on site, that will help us with solar energy intermittency. Currently, our solar panels produce more energy during Summer months, but energy production is lacking during the winter.

3.8 Describe the calculation methodology and comment on the data accuracy, including any tools/methods used to calculate.

*
We are able to accurately track our energy production on site from solar PV. Purchased electricity may be more difficult to calculate. We work with Carbon Jacked to track our carbon emissions and trust their tools and methods used to calculate.

Results, Challenges and Outlook *

7.1 Provide any additional comments or context on your annual results and progress from previous years.

*
Because of the nature of fruit production and annual weather patterns, our crops can change drastically from one year to the next. Because of this, we have been focusing on reducing our KgCO2e (e=equivalent) per bottle of wine produced. 2023-24 gave our lowest figure recorded yet (3.01kgCO2e). Compared to 2022-23 emissions, we did have a 23% increase in KgCO2e from all operations. This was mostly driven to wine production being around double that of the previous assessment. Packaging causes a large increase in our emissions, with glass bottles being a large contributor. Because of the pressure required to produce and store sparkling wine in bottle, the bottles are typically heavier than standard still wine bottles. While our scope 3 emissions rose by 47% due to increased production, our scope 1 emissions decreased by 40% compared to the previous years assessment. This was driven by a decrease in the purchasing of agrochemicals (used in the vineyard) and refrigerants (used in wine storage).

7.2 Do you face any key challenges in reducing emissions?

*

Reducing scope 1 emissions,Reducing scope 2 emissions,Reducing scope 3 emissions,Reducing emissions from business travel,Electrifying the vehicle fleet and/or cutting transport emissions,Balancing emission reductions with business growth,Complexities in managing supply chain emissions,Insufficient policies or government incentives,Time constraints,Lack of skills and knowledge,Low return on investment

7.3 Has there been any third party validation of the data submitted in this report?

*

No
